We are thrilled with our beautiful cookbook that was recently published with Chronicle Books. It was exciting to write the stories behind each recipe and rewarding to see the philosophy, aesthetics and a decade of hard work all come together in a book. The artful photos by Frankie Frankeny and the design work by Sara Schnieder - especially her genius idea to scallop the pages - make this an incredibly beautiful book.


It's unfortunate that the book went to print with some mistakes. Chronicle has released a sheet of corrections, which can be downloaded here:

We are incredibly disappointed with the mistakes and apologize for the inconvenience of buying a book that needs editing. The two recipes that are the most confusing are the Vanilla Buttercream and the Fleur de Sel Caramels. With the corrections, however, these recipes work wonderfully and reliably well. The other errors are in the sugar and flour weights, but the cup measurements are accurate.


If there is a silver lining, it's that we have had many conversations with our customers and readers. In fact, we have received so much inspirational feedback that we have already sketched out ideas for another book.


While Chronicle has replaced copies of the defective book with a partially-corrected third printing, we are waiting for the fully-corrected fourth printing to be published before selling the book in our stores or online. The fourth version, which has been professionally proofread, represents the quality and exactness that you would expect in a cookbook. We look forward to its release and finally being able to stock it on our shelves.
